The Geek Tycoon (Book 1)

Overall Rating: 3.5 (sXe)

Quick & Dirty summary: Tony and Charlotte have known each other since they were five. In high school she was a popular kid and Tony was a total geek. Tony knows that Charlotte is still out of his league, but his crush isn’t close to being over, especially now that they work together. Charlotte could care less about popular kids and geeks. She made that mistake once, but now that she’s divorced and working full-time at Tony’s startup, she knows what she’s looking for in a man and it’s Tony—he just doesn’t know it yet.

This is a short and sweet novel. I was surprised to see a novel by Vicki Lewis Thompson that was so short, because her other novels are significantly longer, but I loved it all the same. The characters are well developed for a 66-page story, and the sex is pretty steamy.

More than anything, though, I like the balance between Tony and Charlotte. While Tony is take charge in the bedroom enough to be HOT, Charlotte also takes the relationship into her own hands as well. After reading a bunch of romance novels where the women are like “no, no” this is a nice change of pace.

I do wish the novel had been longer, since this is the first book in a new series. But you all know I love geeky nerdy heroes and heroines. I’m such a sucker that way.

Is it worth buying? (Kindle $0.99)

Yes! It’s less than a dollar and it’s a super sweet HEA. Bonus, if you are a Kindle Unlimited subscriber, it’s FREE!

Something else you might enjoy:

The Hooker and the Hermit by my BFF Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway has a shy, nerdy heroine. I’m recommending it at this point because it’s the first book in a series the two authors are doing, with the second book being released this month so now is a great time to get in on the ground floor with the first novel.
