The CEO Buys In (Book 1)
Overall Rating: 4 (sXe)
Quick & Dirty summary: Nathan Trainer just wants someone to love him for himself. So when he finds himself drunk is an exclusive club with two other billionaires, he makes the bet of a lifetime. Chloe Russell just wants to work for a company she can believe in and provide for herself and her grandmother. So when she is unexpectedly promoted to the CEO’s executive assistant, she can’t pass up the opportunity to make a little extra money at her temp job. When Chloe and Nathan work together, neither one is what they expect.
I love Nathan. Sure he has some hang ups, but here is a man who isn’t afraid of love or commitment. Just that aspect of Nathan as a character cut through some unnecessary drama. I enjoyed all of the characters really, so I think the next two books in the series will be great.
The pacing of the novel is even and fast, so it’s a quick and enjoyable read. There isn’t a ton of conflict in this novel, which is good and bad. The good is that the drama doesn’t needlessly go on and on and on. The bad is that there isn’t anything within the novel that really stands out in my mind.
While I gave this book a regular sXe rating, the sex in this novel was hot and it was often! So be prepared for some steamy stuff.
Is it worth buying? (Kindle $3.99)
Yes, it is a really enjoyable book! The even better news is if you have Kindle Unlimited, then you can read it for free and enjoy it even more.
Something else you might enjoy:
This is slightly off the wall, but if you enjoyed the dynamic between Nathan and Chloe, then you might also enjoy Lev, A Shot Callers novel by Belle Aurora. Lev is a different kind of rich guy, but totally lovable nonetheless. You can read my review of the novel here.
